boat launch - tractor

Boat Park and Ride
You know all about the hassle of home storage for your boat – towing it around, getting your car covered in mud, and finding somewhere to keep it.

Thankfully with Brightlingsea Boat Park and Ride, you can leave your boat with us. We operate a park-and-ride facility for sports and fishing boats up to 26 foot. Security is great – we ve a fenced area  all on asphalt hard standing, with 24-hour CCTV  or you can leave your boat in our undercover storage area.

Thats the park bit.  And the ride?  Well, all you do is turn up, get on board and well hitch up one of our tractors to your trailer, take you to the water and launch you. After that, its up to you. Spend the day fishing or just playing about on the water.

For those of you who just need a day launch we can launch / recover you. Just turn up pay the harbour fees and we will do the rest for you for a small fee of £20 – saves the car getting wet.

Summer opening hours are from 8.0 am until 17.00pm If you wish to be afloat later than this please confirm a couple of days before so we can arrange late staff coverage.

When your ready to come back, just phone us and we will be there with your trailer to recover you. It all adds up to a days boating without even getting your feet wet. There are even male and female showers and changing rooms, toilets and a comfy reception area with snacks and cold drinks. What?s more, we are open every day except Christmas.

Suzuki Marine Promotions.

There are no official Suzuki promotions at the moment, but our prices are much lower the rrp. Check our prices on the Outboard Engines page of our web site.

The Envoirment and Water Shortage.

Although there is not yet a hose pipe ban in our area we are aware of the bans that surrounding areas have. To do our bit in saving water we suggest to our customers that only to flush the engines after use for as minimum time as deemed fit and not to waste water. We also ask customers to think before wasting gallons of water when washing of their boats. Thank you.

Thoughts for the future

We are noticing a different trend within boating. Understandable with the price of  fuel as it is, people that want to be out on the water are looking to achieve their goal as most cost effective as possible. We have over the last couple of years noticed that more and more people are not using large American powered power boats as much, but are turning their thoughts to Ribs. Ribs with modern ecenomical 4 stroke outboard engines, a very usable boat for many different purposes – dont let inflatable tubes put you off, they are very forgiving, you dont need to think about getting fenders in the right place when coming alongside pontoons, they make picking up skiers out of the water easy and a rib will take a much bigger sea than a same sized hard sided boat. People are also turning to sailing – trailer sailing. Still having all the benefits of a trailer able boat, most if not all, have a engine tucked away just incase the wind drops  or when manovering in confined spaces. With trailerable sailing boats you dont have  messy job of anti fouling every spring and scrubbing, scraping off every autumn. Not having the worry of dragging moorings when high winds and storms are blowing and not the worry of  accidental collisions when you boat is left on the mooring, let alone the thought of  water coming in and sinking. When  your boat is stored on a trailer, maintance is a lot easier, tools and equipment are always to hand, you dont have the worry of leaving the job not completly finished, as you have the knowledge that the boat is safe. Of course we are here 7 days a week and are available to carry out maintance jobs during the week so to keep you afloat during the weekends and holidays.

We have now a large fleet of Laser sports boats, Brightlingsea One Design sailing dinghies and a growing fleet of trailer able small yachts.

If you have the hankering to get afloat but the cost of fuel puts you off speak to us here  at Park and Ride and I am sure that we could accommodate you. All you need is a lifting keel and a well designed road trailer / launch trolley and you could join in the fun with the growing band of sailors.

Obviously with the rising fuel prices the big used powerboats are not as expensive to buy as the were, the lower outlay price of the boat might make the thought of boating more  attractive to you, again we are here to help you with your dream. American sports boats with their big engines need a big vehicle to launch them, our tractors are here for the job, to take the worry of launching – recoverey. We have spaces for  storage, and can offer RYA power boat training if required. For all you boating needs we can help.
