Congratulations to James

James has just completed the last of the Suzuki engineering courses held at Suzuki s UK headquarters at Milton Keynes. This makes him fully quallifyed for working on all the current range of engines from the little DF2.5 right through to the big DF300. The v6 course was the final one James needed to complete successfully to achieve completion of all the courses Suzuki offer.

Engine Tune

We offer full workshop facilities, too. On-site glass-fibre and gel-coat specialists can tackle all your repairs, and we even have a woodworking area for traditional wooden-boat repairs and renovations.

Need electronic aids installing? We can fit everything from radios, depth sounders and fishfinders to chartplotters and GPS. We also supply all batteries for marine and leisure use very competitively.

We are the area`s Suzuki Marine main dealers, others might claim to be but they are only allowed to sell Suzuki engines as a package fitted to certain makes of boats, through arrangements with Suzuki GB and the boat manufactures / importers. Any spares, servicing and warranty work should come through ourselves. Our engine sales for Suzuki are one of the cheapest on the web. These prices naturally are the same as if you were to buy from our shop.

We are proud to state that all the local sailing clubs in Brightlingsea use Suzuki engines for their durability and  fuel efficiency, let alone the low noise levels and compact designs.

We are also main dealers for Tohatsu engines. We can supply these engines as competitivly as anyone on the web. We have supplied the local council with these engines on their beach patrol boat at the major seaside resorts in our area, and as you can imagine these engines are used every day all day through out the summer and bank holidays, only needing annual servicing to keep them in tip top condition.

All our engineers have been factory trained to work on the full range of engines that we can supply, we have also had training for engine instalation. We are able to carry out warranty work and we have the full diagnostic equipment to connect your engine to a laptop computor for fault finding and recording any faults as well as being to find out the correct history of your engine and running hours.

Spring servicing

Hopefully the bad weather is now behind us and we have the spring and summer to look forward to. For those who never bothered to have your boats serviced in the winter, now should be the time to think about and have done you annual service. Having you boat serviced now before the mad rush will see that you are among the first onto the water this year. It is always disapointing to turn up and the engine wont start or the engine starts but there is no water circulation, water ways have become blocked with salt build up and internal corrosion. Most common is the battery. Having you battery regually charged over the winter months will guarantee that when you come to recommission you pride and joy every thing starts as it should. It can also be that the engine is in need of a service, on the American inboard engined boats condensation can build up over the winter, as the boat has all being wraped up under covers and it hasnt had a  good air flow around vital parts. With having a service before you plan to use the boat we can correct any problems that are occuring so you boat is ready to perform when you want it to.

Old 2 stroke engines are notorious for bad starting even when things are good. With modern fuels left for a period the carbs gum up, and if it does start running can be very uneven and full power not obtainable, giving you a worry when out at sea. The last thing you want out there is a boat that wont work, and the worry of not getting back safely. A good service should ease your worrys. Give us a call and we can get on and get thing sorted before its to late, as we know boating can be a last minute desission having to rely on good weather etc, which makes it more important to have the boat right when you need it.

Marine Engine and Gearbox Oils

We only use marine oils that conform to the latest NMMA FCW standards. These are reinforced by a synthetic base for best protection and longer engine life.
